updates.

well the last month has been up and down. we were due to swap yards, then the girl decided shed like to share the yard with us. so we have 2 yards now, more expense but whilst we have the 4 its worth it.

all the horses are back in work, with the 2 boys looking really good, plutos having front shoes on next week as hes foot sore, and hes back done on thursday. should also have the saddle fitter out to fit saddles to them both.

snaps went jumping, she loved it i hated every second! and we managed a really bad dressage test in horrid weather!

Alan the Arab!

I bought Alan, after browsing the adtrader, saw a bargin horse advertised and went to see him, he is 7 this yeah, was broken at 4, then turned away, brought back into work at 5 and hacked about then went on loan, where they dont know what happened exactley but he came back a wreck, mentally and physically.

so with it in mind to use him as plutos companion i bought him, and so far although untrusting at 1st hes a real sweety!

The Story So Far!!! Rignt a bit of back ground about me..... (boring i know)Ive been around horses all my life, having our 1st pony when i was about 3, since then my life has always involved horses, not only for pleasure but also for work, Ive worked in all sorts of yards, mostly for top riders etc.Ive also worked abroad a fair bit, including in Greece, alongside what was then called a horse whisperer.Ive decided to start this blog as i have 2 project horses, and one that went on loan and is now an neglect case, both Pluto and snapper have a bit of a following, and due to being limited on some things i can say on forums etc i thought this would be a better place. soooooo

pluto 4 weeks later.

pluto 2 days after we got him home.

Pluto is a 15.2 pure breed Lipizzaner, i bought him last June after my Loan horse was taken back. hes 12, and had been with his previous owner since he was 9 months old, the lady that had owned him had only ever sat on him once, when i went to view him he was an unschooled brute! He'd also had a bit of a sheltered life, and had been spoilt rotten and hadn't really done things like hacking alone etc,

up until December 2007, i was re schooling him, we also done hours of hacking, hes a wonderful horse, full of character and not a nasty bone in his body, he can be strong to ride and on hacks can be sharp. BUT he is a great horse.

December 2007, I decided to put him on loan/with view to buy as i had snapper and Pluto wasn't happy in a field of mud, hes a horse that loves work and being around people, i quick lunge and feed just wasn't for him. so out on loan he went.

spoke to the people each week and they always told me he was wonderful etc, then due to the daughter suffering a breakdown decided that they couldn't keep him, that was ok i said id have him back for a couple of months ad if it was going to help the kid they could have him back when the time was right. They THEN decided the day before he was due back that they couldn't let him go, so we discussed this and they decided they wanted to buy him, the only downside was they didn't have 4k spare so i said ok, we will do a new 6 month loan agreement and you can pay as and when you like but the full amount must be paid by the end of the 6months and i want a deposit to at least cover his saddle (1200 Albion.) ok no probs, a few days later i get a text to say she has the money in cash could she bring it to me, no that's ok i say, id like to see Pluto, so we go down, the pictures explain the state i found him in. so the next morning i removed him and cancelled the agreement.

for any one that this has happened to its the worst feeling, you try and make the best choices for your horses and then you feel like you have let them down, pluto has been checked by the vet who body scored him a 1.5 it is now going through the rspca as a neglect case. Pluto was away from me for 10 weeks, the pictures of me on him are the day he went.
